Hell yeah, I love me some holiday-related slasher movies. Pretty much the only thing I remember about this one is my mother and I stayed up late to watch it one dark and stormy night when I was a kid. I’ve been meaning to re-watch so I’ll probably feature it for 31 Days of Gore (or sooner) this year.

Bullets of Justice (2017) [Trailer]
this trailer is awesomely NSFW
At first glance it looks like a movie, but it’s actually the beginning of a TV series. See the crowdfunding campaign here. The lower tier perks aren’t great (I can’t exactly stream “a prayer” or hang it on my wall), but at $35 you get a poster and an early copy of the pilot episode. And no, I’m not affiliated with the project, I just think this one looks like a modern B-movie with a rare balance between self-aware and genuine bad-assery.
Fucking pigs… I always knew they were not to be trusted.
The Belko Experiment (2017) [Trailer]
As I’ve said before, I’m a big fan of the “deadly game” genre. The Belko Experiment is written by James Gunn (Tromeo & Juliet, Guardians of the Galaxy) and features a killer cast. I will never get sick of seeing Michael Rooker in genre films and Tony Goldwyn looks comfortable here, too.
Hell of the Living Dead (1980) [Trailer]
Two-Lane Blacktop (1971) [Trailer]
This would have been the first Blu-Ray I bought this year if it weren’t forty friggin’ dollars. On the other hand, I’m surprised it got a Criterion Collection release. So that’s something.
Edit: One day after posting this, the movie went on sale for $27.99, Amazon, which rivals the cheapest price I saw on eBay… and it became the first Blu-Ray I bought this year after all.
Death Race 2050 (2017) [Trailer]
No, I don’t think it’ll be any good, but it looks a helluva lot better than the Hollywood remake.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) [Trailer]
One of the best remakes of all time. I think it’s kind of neat Donald Sutherland went on to star in the (not very good) adaptation of Robert Heinlein’s The Puppet Masters.
Suburbia (1983) [Trailer]
Circuitry Man (1990) [Trailer]
Here’s one I didn’t know existed until just now.
Beyond the Gates (2016) [Trailer]
Barbara Crampton, ’nuff said. Comes out on VOD this Friday.
